Eternals is a highly controversial Marvel blockbuster that has had a muted reception at the box office. A sequel seemed questionable. But not for Marvel newcomer Patton Oswalt, who lends his voice to the goblin Pip in the film’s mid-credits scene. He loudly announced Eternals 2. As if he wanted to succeed MCU blabberjack Tom Holland.
Eternals 2 is coming: Marvel star in Tom Holland’s footsteps
This is suggested by an interview with the Today Show in which Oswalt stated:
[Marvel] has already announced an Eternals sequel. Chloé Zhao is directing. So hopefully we’ll see more of that [Harry Styles’ MCU-Rolle] Starfox and Pip.

In fact, a sequel to the MCU blockbuster has never been confirmed by Marvel, Eternals creator Zhao, or any of the main actors. Marvel boss Kevin Feige hinted at a future for Starfox and Pip in the interview (via MTV News), but that’s about it. Is Oswalt ranting or babbling real internals? Eternals 2 remains uncertain.
When could Eternals 2 hit theaters?
If the Marvel sequel really comes, it will be a long time coming anyway. Eternals 2 does not feature in the MCU’s Phase 5 plans. And the last until the summer of 2024.
