To mark Halloween, Apple is hosting a conference on October 31. Most certainly to present new Macs powered by the brand new M3 chip which promises “monstrous” performance.
The rumors were right: as predicted by very well-informed observers, including Mark Gruman, the famous Bloomberg journalist, Apple will announce new products at the end of October. The Apple firm has just announced an event which will be held on Monday October 30, 2023 at 5 p.m. California time, or Tuesday October 31 at 1 a.m. French time, taking into account the time difference and the transition to ‘winter hour. The date, title and illustration chosen for the invitations leave little doubt as to the theme of the event: Scary Fast – translated as Monstrously fast, in French – clearly alludes to high performance, in this case, to new computers most probably powered by M3, the new in-house chip which will succeed the glorious M1 and M2.
The choice of the day is undoubtedly a nod to Halloween, as highlighted by scary from the title, literally scary. The time, however, is more unusual: Apple usually holds its conferences in the morning in California, or in the early evening in Europe. But whatever ! There will obviously be no journalists on site; nor even a real conference, the presentations now being entirely recorded in advance, often a production worthy of Hollywood productions. In any case, no invitation is needed to attend: everyone will be able to follow the keynote on video, live or in replay, on the website and on Apple’s YouTube channel, as is now Rule. No privileged people!

As always, Apple says nothing about the content of its presentation, the firm observing military secrecy on all its projects. But the always knowledgeable experts Mark Gruman and Ming-Chi Kuo.predict the introduction of the M3 chip awaited for months by fans of the brand, with the arrival of new 13, 14 and 16 inch MacBook Pros and a new iMac, the fixed all-in-one computer from Apple, which was not entitled to the M2 chip and which could benefit from a larger screen. Will the Mac mini and Mac Studio also benefit from this promising new processor? Mystery. And it seems unlikely to see new iPads, as some had hoped. But Apple likes surprises. So be patient. One thing is certain: this is not a good week to buy a Mac! Better to wait for the new models to be released to see things more clearly and benefit from unprecedented power…
