The number of donors is also decreasing at development organization Solidaridad from Urecht. “It is not sudden, we have been seeing a gradual decrease for years,” says spokesperson Bram Verkerke. Yet this has no negative consequences for revenues, he says. “We have been able to increase the yield slightly for a long time, and the donors who remain give a little more.” At the Maag Lever Darm Stichting in Amersfoort the picture is less rosy. “In 2023, the number of donors decreased by 6 percent and the amount we raise will also decrease,” says director Mariël Croon. She says that the foundation is completely dependent on donations and that they are “a bit” concerned.
