According to the leak, there will soon be the option to upgrade icons in the evolutions in EA FC 24. Even the alleged requirements are already known. The news even briefly caused a few legends to disappear from the transfer market.
What are evolutions? In EA FC 24 you can create your own stars with the Evolutions. There are now countless evolution upgrades available, even the first increases above 90+ are possible with the new feature.
After it was possible to upgrade the first hero cards not long ago, it should be possible in the near future to give certain icons an evolution. Below we will show you which requirements should apply according to the leak and which icons are suitable.
Leak shows possible requirements for Icon Evolutions
What requirements does the icon have to meet? Donk, one of the most well-known leakers, published the possible requirements for the potential Icon Evolutions on his X account:
Donk jokes at the end of his post that popular icons like Vieira or Jairzinho would not be suitable for the new evolution. Despite their popularity, both icons have not yet received event icon cards, which have already been available for various other legends as part of the following promos:

Steven Gerrard: Steven Gerrard is shown as an example in Donk’s post shown above and, according to the requirements, he would actually fit the profile of the Icon Evolutions very well. This was immediately noticeable on the transfer market. Shortly after the leak was published, Gerrard disappeared completely from the market for quite a while.
Its price has now leveled off again, but with a current sales value of around 210,000 coins it is still twice as expensive as it was before the leak (via futbin.com).
Socrates: The same applies to Socrates. Like Gerrard, the Brazilian midfield icon would fit the requirements of the new evolution perfectly. As with his English colleague, people searched for a map by Sócrates after the leak, mostly in vain. Its price is now over 230,000 coins.
Which icons would still work for the evolutions? If the requirements were really correct, many more icons would be included in the candidate list. To be precise, there are 41 legends that have the potential to be upgraded.
