Requirements for textile waste to be sorted
As of January 1, it is required that all textile waste be collected and disposed of separately from other waste. The municipality will be responsible for setting up recycling stations.

New democratic conditions will begin to apply to the organizations that apply for state grants. In order to be granted a grant, the organization must have a purpose that is compatible with the values that characterize a democratic society and respect the ideas of democracy, among other things.

New rules for interest deductions for unsecured loans
At the turn of the year, deductions will only be allowed for interest on loans that meet special conditions in terms of security and maximum loan-to-value ratio. Anyone who may have already requested an adjustment before 2025 may have to submit a completely new application to the authority.

On January 1, 2025, Sweden’s patent law will change. The law, which came into force in 1967, is getting a lot of updates. One of the changes is that the application fee must be paid before processing of a patent begins.

Police aspirants receive SEK 8,000 more per month
In 2025, police aspirants will receive SEK 8,000 more in salary, which means that they will have a monthly salary of SEK 23,000.

As of January 1, 2025, PET bottles must contain at least 25 percent recycled plastic, which may change the appearance of the bottles.

Certain occupational groups are required to report
People who work in authorities will have to inform the police if they discover people who are in Sweden without a permit. If this is not done, they may face financial reprisals.

Malus is abolished for some cars
The so-called malus tax is abolished for mobile homes registered from 1 February onwards.

The Accessibility Directive enters into force
