In 2019, the employer’s contribution was reduced to 10.21 percent to make it easier for young people to enter the labor market. But now in 2024, the reduction will be removed and the fee together with the general salary fee will return to 31.42 percent.

How does the new law affect young people?
– A return to the level of the employer’s contribution for this group should have little impact on the labor market with regard to the fact that most of that age are full-time students and very few people are looking for permanent work. In the long run, it can rather have a positive impact both for the individual and the labor market, as it is important to have completed high school studies, says Annelie Almerusmanager at the Employment Agency, to News24.
Annelie Almérus adds that the change will not be felt so much for young people who have hourly jobs alongside their studies.
