With Hurry up Tomorrow Seems to get a musical horror trip to us, in which it is hardly surprising that Jenna Ortega (Wednesday) finds difficult words for the project: “It is a mix of psychological thrillers and drama. The film by Trey Edward Shults (IT Comes At Night) portrays the pop singer The Weeknd as an artist who is about to meet a woman (Ortega) shortly before the collapse, who threatens to cut his reality apart.

The musical psycho-premise is not the only crazy unique selling point from Hurry Up Tomorrow. The film title is also that of the Sixth studio albums by Abel Tesfaye aka the Weekndwhich came out internationally at the end of January and should be the musician’s last project under his pop persona. Filmmacher Shults brought this into a screenplay and later film form to create a complementary piece to the album.
Tesfaye, whom is also known from the ripped-out HBO series The Idol, told Wagazine as early as 2023 about his final album Hurry Up Tomorrow:
The album is probably my last hurray as a Weeknd. This is something I have to do. As The Weeknd, I said everything I can say. I will still make music, maybe as a Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to kill Weeknd. And I will.
