Season 5 has brought a number of new items to Diablo 4, making many builds stronger or even playable for the first time. One of these is the Axial Link for Sorcerers, a pair of pants that catapults a previously poor build to the top.
What kind of item is this?
This is what makes Axial Connection so strong: The item strengthens the Chain Lightning spell by adding a chance to cast the skill twice and granting ranks. In addition, the Axial Link increases resource generation.
The real strength, however, lies in the legendary effect of the pants. This means that Chain Lightning switches between two variants: It circles around you or seeks out up to 3 enemies. When it returns, it drains your mana.
When enough mana is spent, the bolt explodes for a large amount of lightning damage. The spell lasts as long as you have enough mana to sustain it.
The Chain Lightning build is one of the strongest in the tier list of Season 5 and in the S tier. In Season 4, the build was one of the worst in the game, but it is only thanks to the Axial Connection that it is now so strong.

Axial Connection for the Chain Lightning Wizard – How to play the build
The whole build is more or less based on lucky hits. In addition to the Axial Link, you also wear the Fists of Fate, which randomly increase your damage to between 1% and up to 300%. The best place to farm this item is from the Beast in the Ice.
The difficulty lies in managing the mana. To do this, you need the Charging Aspect, which grants you mana for each jump of Chain Lightning. You can also help with:
You can make enemies vulnerable with ice blades and thus multiply your damage. The blades also help to activate Tal Rasha’s Shimmering Circlet. You can find the unique at Varshan.
The remaining multipliers come from the Firebolt enchantment in combination with the corresponding passives. You can find the build with all skills and Paragon boards on maxroll.gg.
The style of play is then quite straightforward: you summon ice blades and let your chain lightning do the rest. Against particularly tough opponents you activate Unstable Current. You protect yourself with ice armor and a flame shield and escape tricky situations with teleport.
If you want to really upgrade the build, you should get the Mythic Unique Andariel’s Visage. You can get it from Andariel or Duriel. The helmet has a chance to create a poison nova, which will give you even more damage with Tal Rashas.
The build is a bit tough, especially at lower levels and without the right equipment. The further you go, the stronger you become, especially with the Paragon. If you want to get to the endgame quickly, here are the best tips for leveling in Diablo 4 to get to level 100 quickly.
