Audi continues its investments for the future at full speed. Neckarsulm Continuing its efforts to renovate the paint shop at its facility, Audi is now commissioning a new water supply system.

Thanks to the closed-circuit water system created with the wastewater treatment plant of the municipality where the plant is located, the Neckarsulm plant reduces the use of fresh water during production. The developed system is planned to halve water consumption in production by 2035. To achieve this goal, the company is commissioning a closed water loop with the wastewater treatment plant of the neighboring Zweckverband Unteres Sulmtal. Audi processes the water treated by the wastewater treatment plant for production with the help of filter systems and membranes. The treated water then flows back to the wastewater treatment plant. Audi, which will start the construction of the new facility after the successful test phase, will use the process water of the entire facility in a closed loop starting from 2025 and save up to 70 percent of fresh water.
