Ferguson, who has spent the past 12 months working out the of OPP’s West Region Headquarters, will become the interim Brant OPP detachment commander on Nov. 8.

“For the past 12 months, regional command has provided me with developmental opportunities in West Region traffic and marine, Haldimand County and, currently, business and finance at the regional headquarters in London,” Ferguson said. “I’m excited to bring all of this knowledge with me to Brant next month.”

Ferguson began her career with the OPP in Norfolk and was promoted to Brant as a sergeant in 2013 before returning to Norfolk three years later.

In March 2019, she returned to Brant, this time as staff sergeant, detachment operations manager.

Ferguson takes over from Insp. Shawn Nash, who joined Brant OPP in May. He is moving to an operational support position at the West Region headquarters.

Nash replaced Insp. Lisa Darling, who served as interim detachment commander in April. She was brought in to replace detachment commander Lisa Anderson, who has been on leave since the spring.

The OPP has provided no information regarding why Anderson is on leave, saying only that it’s a personal matter.

Anderson became detachment commander in Brant in September 2018.
