With the appearance of Henry Cavill as Superman in Black Adam, Dwayne Johnson had caused the biggest DC coup in recent times. The return of the fan favorite, which The Rock engineered behind the backs of some Warner executives, should Prelude to a new Superman future will. However, nothing came of it.

Dwayne Johnson had DC vision for himself and Henry Cavill for years

In a recent report, Variety has revealed new inside information on the story between Dwayne Johnson and DC. This includes the already known plan of the Black Adam star, a joint film between the latest DC anti-hero and Cavill’s Superman to prepare.

Before the next Batman v Superman-style event blockbuster, however, Johnson had planned even bigger and longer-term events. According to Variety, Johnson reached out directly to Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav with the Pitch for a multi-year plan for Black Adam and Superman.

This apparently included several films in which the paths of the two characters should cross again and again. It all boiled down to the big showdown in a Black Adam vs. Superman movie. Black Adam producers Hiram Garcia and Beau Flynn reportedly formed a trio with Johnson that Steer DC onto a great path of their own wanted.

The Rock, in particular, is said to have not exactly made himself popular with his foray into the DC management floor, where many decisions should be made without the knowledge of individual managers. However, these are insider statements that the star may have consciously want to portray them in a worse light.

Due to Black Adam’s not exactly outstanding box office result and Gunn and Safran’s new plans, the DC master plan with Henry Cavill but definitely off the table anyway.
