New indictment against Donald Trump

Former US President Donald Trump says he is being charged in connection with a federal investigation into how he handled classified documents after his time in the White House.
“The corrupt Biden administration has informed my lawyers that I have been indicted, apparently because of the box scam,”
writes Trump on his platform Truth Social.

After Trump left the White House, classified documents were found at his private residence Mar-a-Lago in Florida. Several of the suspected crimes being investigated are considered to be of a more serious nature. Experienced criminal prosecutor Jack Smith, appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland, is leading the investigation.

Trump, for his part, has always maintained that the documents were not classified.

The Department of Justice has not confirmed

Several American media outlets report that anonymous sources within the Department of Justice confirm the indictment, although no official announcement has yet been made.

According to Donald Trump, he has been ordered to appear in court on Tuesday.

“I am an innocent man. The Biden administration is totally corrupt,” he writes on Truth Social.

According to Trump’s lawyer, Jim Trusty, the former president has been charged with seven different crimes, including violating US espionage laws, obstruction of justice and conspiracy, reports CNN.

Second impeachment against Trump

The indictment is the second against the former president, earlier this spring there was an indictment for accounting violations. According to the prosecutors, Donald Trump, among other things, ordered payments to people who threatened to release sensitive information about him in connection with the 2016 presidential election campaign.

That charge is expected to go to court in March next year. Donald Trump is the first former president to be charged with a crime.
