New Hyundai Tucson reaches highest level of safety


Korean automotive giant Hyundaiin tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety of America (IIHS). Tucson achieved the highest level of success with its model.

Hyundai’s new generation models continue their success at full speed. Some important models from other brands of the group, especially Hyundai’s popular model in the C-SUV segment, TUCSON, reached the Top Safety Pick Plus level, which is the highest score in the crash tests conducted by the American Insurance Institute for Road Safety (IIHS). The models had no difficulty in reaching the TSP+ award when equipped with the front collision avoidance system and LED special headlights.

The IIHS assessment process is based on six types of collisions. All collision avoidance tests from vehicle to vehicle and from vehicle to pedestrian are as important as body robustness in tests conducted in criteria such as driver-side collision, passenger-side collision, mid-front collision, side, roof strength and headrest.

To achieve “Advanced” or “Advanced” ratings, vehicles must have complete safety equipment levels. Models that receive a ‘Good’ grade in the endurance test reach the Top Safety Pick level. At this point, other security systems in the vehicle also play an extremely important role. The headlight systems in the tested vehicles must also be at the standard equipment level.

Hyundai TUCSON, PALISADE, SANTA FE and NEXO models received the best TSP+ award, while Elantra and Sonata received the TSP awards. The entire Genesis model line available in the US market also has a TSP+ award rating.
