The manga for Kagurabachi is increasingly becoming one of the most successful shounen mangas. Although the story began as a joke in the community, the story about Chihiro has now become an insider tip – and is now even recommended by a mangaka from the Big 3.
What kind of manga is this? The manga for Kagurabachi is not that old yet. The first chapter was published on September 19, 2023.
Even before its release, the community created numerous memes about the manga. Many of the images said that Kagurabachi was even better than One Piece and generally the best shounen manga of all time. The jokes even went so far that fans faked an anime and video game based on Kagurabachi.
Unfortunately, there are no official videos for Kagurabachi, but Naruto follows the same line as the Shounen manga:
Kagurabachi celebrates one success after another
What has become of Kagurabachi in the meantime? The memes surrounding Kagurabachi helped the manga become a huge success. The first issue sold so many copies that a third edition was made.
Now Kagurabachi has gained another well-known fan. None other than Naruto mangaka Masashi Kishimoto has recommended Kagurabachi. The manga’s official account shared Kishimoto’s recommendation on X:
The fact that a mangaka of the most popular shounen manga recommends Kagurabachi shows that it is more than just a cult meme.
Shueisha now has so much faith in the story that it is listed first in the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump. The publisher thus acknowledges that the manga is a big seller. This is a personal record for the mangaka (via X).
Where can I read the manga? 40 chapters of Kagurabachi have now been published. You can read all of these chapters in the Manga Plus app, but only in English.
According to Thalia, the English-language physical manga will be released on November 7, 2024. The second edition will then follow on February 4, 2025 (via Amazon). Unfortunately, it is not yet known when there will be a German version.
Masashi Kishimoto’s recommendation should be like a knighthood for the mangaka of Kagurabachi. Along with Bleach and One Piece, Naruto is one of the Big 3 that dominate the Shounen genre.
