It concerns a bell from the year 1537 that was cast by the Utrecht bell founder Jan Tolhuys. The Utrechtse Klokkenluiders Gilde bought the clock last year through an auction in IJsselstein. Adri Onnekink: “The special thing about this clock is that almost all clocks by Jan Tolhuys are known, but not this one yet. No one knew about its existence. It also did not appear in the war registration or in that of the monument service, so we were amazed that such a clock still existed.”
