New high -end smartphones from the manufacturer, the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra are officially revealed with the ambition to give a slap to the photo of the photo on the mobile market, Samsung in mind.

Xiaomi takes advantage of the Barcelona Mobile World Congress (MWC) fair to renew its premium smartphones models. The Xiaomi 14 and 14 Ultra released last year therefore give way to the top of the catalog in the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra. Two very high -end smartphones which also reflect the manufacturer’s desire to offer a range of products adapted to all budgets. Recall that last month, the mobiles were released among the least expensive, the Redmi notes 14 whose 4G model at less than 180 euros that we were able to test. The Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra play on their side in a completely different courtyard for a substantially higher budget. In particular, they aim for photo enthusiasts anxious to make the perfect snapshot, or almost, in all circumstances.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra: The photo for pros

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is the best equipped for the exercise. It has a large and large photo island that hosts a main leica 23, 28 and 35 mm 1 inch module backed by a 50 MP sensor and a leica summilux (f/1.63) optics. Alongside it, Xiaomi has had an associated 200 MPx -releasing telephoto objective for a focal length of 100 mm (f/2.6) for a 4.3x zoom. There is a second 3X telephoto lens and an ultra-angle module of 50 Mpx (f/2.2). Solid equipment, cut for the photo day and night as for portraits, whatever the light conditions.

Xiaomi 15: a notch below but still high-end

The Xiaomi 15 on its side displays its photographic ambitions a little less. He adopts a more conventional template and look. Available in four colors, black, white, green and a new fairly atypical silver design. He has three photo modules. A large angle of 50 Mpx (f/1.62), a telephoto lens of 50 Mpx (f/2.0) and an ultra-angle of 50 Mpx (f/2.2). It is also by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SOC but is available in two versions. 12-256 GB or 12-512 GB. Price sides, the two models exceed the 1000 euros mark with 1003 euros for the first and 1103 euros for the second. We note in passing that, unlike other brands, Xiaomi does not have too heavy hand on the invoice when it doubles the storage. However, as for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the Xiaomi 15 takes advantage of an offer of launch with an immediate discount of 100 euros to which are added 200 euros of recovery for an old smartphone and as a gift, a Watch S4 or a Watch 2 (worth 169 euros) or Redmi Buds 6 Pro headphones (worth 79 euros).

Xiaomi: original projects for the photo

Xiaomi also took advantage of the MWC show to present an original concept on which he has been working for almost three years. It is an optical module system. An accessory that is tackled on the back of the device, in the center using a magnetic attachment system. Suddenly, the mobile looks like a traditional camera. This small module therefore works completely independently of the original photo equipment of the smartphone, contrary to what we have seen in other manufacturers as at Realme for example.

This module includes a 100 MP sensor associated with a 35mm f/1.4 optics. It does not require any configuration. It is automatically recognized in the photo application. For the moment, this accessory remains in the concept state. During the demonstration, Xiaomi was unable to indicate to us if he was going to enter into production or when if necessary.
