Microsoft plans to make the gaming experience more realistic and customizable by adding new generation haptic engines to the Xbox controller.
Microsoft, Xbox is taking an important step to improve its controller. A new patent application of the company has revealed the haptic engine technology to be used in the controller. These motors will move within the device, offering players a deeper sense of vibration. It also aims to provide superior performance at low cost and by consuming less energy. This innovation will enable the Xbox controller to offer players a more impressive gaming experience.
Xbox is Preparing to Compete with DualSense
The DualSense controller device, introduced by Sony with PlayStation 5, was appreciated by the players with its advanced haptic feedback features. Microsoft aims to increase competition in this field with the new haptic engines it will use in the Xbox controller.
According to the patent statements, these motors will be integrated into the mechanical structure of the device and provide both smaller and stronger feedback. Additionally, players will be offered a more personalized experience thanks to the dynamic adjustment of the engines.
The new haptic engine technology is expected to be included in next-generation devices rather than existing Xbox controllers. According to experts, the controller codenamed “Sebile” that Microsoft is working on may be the first model to include this technology. However, it is estimated that this device will be released together with the new generation Xbox consoles.
