Half-Life 2 RTX, which was first announced in August 2023, is equipped with a number of superior technologies from NVIDIA. These technologies include full ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS 3, NVIDIA Reflex and RTX IO. These innovations offer GeForce RTX owners a unique gaming experience.
The development team heavily uses a modding platform called RTX Remix to improve the visuals of older games. This platform provides the ability to import game assets, enhance materials with AI tools, and integrate ray tracing and DLSS into RTX.
In the newly released trailer, the dark streets and deserted buildings of Ravenholm are made even more spooky by adding authentic lighting and shadow effects to the game. The trailer also includes scenes where Gordon Freeman fights against zombies. However, it is stated that the game is still in the development phase and a release date has not been determined.
NVIDIA announced that RTX Remix will be available to everyone as an open beta on January 22. “With NVIDIA RTX Remix, modders will be able to remaster classic games with full ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS, NVIDIA Reflex, and modern physically based rendering (PBR) assets,” the company said.
Introduced during the event, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER constitute NVIDIA’s newest graphics card series.
