Who is behind the game? Sunderfolk is produced by the developer studio Secret Door, which belongs to the game forge Dreamhaven founded in 2020. Dreamhaven is the new company of Mike Morhaime, who founded together with Frank Pearce and Allen Adham Blizzard. You slip into the role of animal heroes that protect an underground village called “Arden”, which was created for the remains of a magical stone. So you move to the dangerous splinterland and in the fight against evil powers carry out various orders from the villagers.

The great special feature of the game is the strong focus on Couch-Coop with up to 4 players. Sunfolk wants to bring the classic game evenings back and gather joy or families in the living room. To do this, the role-playing game relies on your smartphones as a controller: each player downloads a free app, scans a QR code on the screen and thus controls his hero.

The game principle is primarily inspired by board games and so every player is on the edge and chooses his skill cards.

6 animal heroes with unique skills

There are 6 different classes to choose from in Sunderfolk, which have defined skills. There is, for example, a raven arcanist who uses spells and can teleport your teammates, and a bat bar that inspires players with his songs and manipulated opponents.

  • Arcanist: Rabe, Arkane-Magie (controls the field)
  • Bard: bat, support magic (Buffens the team)
  • Berserker: Eisbär, tank (can spin players and opponents)
  • Pyrommer: lizard, fire magic (divides AoE damage with flames)
  • Ranger: goat, ranged fighters (fights with arrow and bow)
  • Rogue: Ferret, Melee (makes a high single-star damage and has alternative skills)
