New Free2Play MMORPG promises maximum freedom – lets you help shape crucial features

Profane is a new MMORPG that puts full focus on your freedom. You determine your playing style and role in the world yourself. In a new roadmap, the developers are now presenting how things will continue and letting you have a say in important features.

What is this MMORPG? Your character in Profane is completely free and not bound to anything. There are no classes and no levels. Instead, you learn skills that you can improve over time and advance your character in whatever direction that may take you.

The game world itself has a more comic-like look and above all promises you a lot of freedom:

The developers say that in Profane players will take on a role, make decisions and take losses upon death. Because of these missing components, WoW is not a real role-playing game and cannot be compared to Profane.

The new Blue Protocol in direct comparison completely dispenses with PvP:

New roadmap gives you a say in features

What’s new? For a long time it was rather quiet about Profane, but now the developers have spoken again via Twitter to share the current status of the game. It’s mostly about details like the fact that “Plants and Seeds” is now grouped under “Farming” or something like that.

The developers also discuss that they are currently working on a system to allow players to travel between the different regions and take their items with them. In addition, the guild system will not be further developed for the time being, because you first want to see how the guild wars develop.

What are you allowed to have a say in? The complete trading system of the game is newly developed. There are already some ideas, but the team is hoping for feedback from the community and further suggestions on how trading in the game should work in the end.

For a sandbox game that relies on player interaction, such a feature is hugely important, so it’s just as valuable that players like it. So the developers are asking you directly on Twitter to share your ideas and suggestions with them.

The system is still in its infancy and there is no better time to come to the developers with fresh ideas (via twitter).

What do you think of profane? Do you like the full sandbox approach with the PvP focus? Or do you find the ideas rather problematic? What would your ideas for the trading system in MMORPG look like? Feel free to write it to us in the comments here at MeinMMO, we look forward to discussing it with you!
