The team’s board said in a news release Ralph Ganter will take on the senior administrative post April 1.
He replaces Sarah Milner who resigned in January to take a job at Bluewater Health.
“The board is very excited to welcome Ralph Ganter to the Central Lambton Family Health Team,” said board chairperson Kelly Poore.
“He is a trusted leader in the local healthcare community, has a significant understanding of rural health care, and has partnered with multidisciplinary stakeholders, elected officials and provincial bodies throughout his career.”
Ganter held senior positions with the Erie St. Clair local health integration network.
“The family health team model has been of keen interest to me for several years and I am eager to be part of such a vibrant and important organization that also serves as a pillar for the local health care system,” Ganter said.
The Central Lambton Family Health Team is a primary health care organization established in 2011 in Petrolia. It includes family physicians, a nurse practitioner, nurses, social workers, dietitians, a pharmacist, chiropodist and other professionals working together serving a roster of more than 15,000 patients.
Dr. Enoch Daniel, lead physician of the team, welcomed Ganter’s appointment and his experience forming partnerships and building programs.
“He also has a deep interest in rural health and given his wealth of experience, he is the ideal person to propel the health-care needs of rural citizens to the forefront,” Daniel said.
