What event is coming up in Ultimate Team? Insiders at Ultimate Team have leaked information about a winter event that will take place on Friday, December 20th, 2024. This is probably the well-known “Winter Wildcards”.
What is Winter Wildcards? In this event, a variety of new special cards with more or less powerful upgrades are waiting for you. In FC 24, not only normal maps benefited from these improvements, but also icons. It is therefore quite conceivable that special versions of legend cards will also appear in FC 25 during the “Winter Wildcards”.
In FC 24, Winter Wildcards Team 1 offered strong icons like Pele or Didier Drogba.
The mere fact that the market is flooded with many new special cards would be enough to cause the prices of all previous cards to fall. But another announcement about the event causes the market to crash.

Winter Wildcards will probably bring players with two PlayStyle+
A crucial leak concerns the winter wildcard version of Man City striker Erling Haaland, which has not yet been published. This should not only get upgrades to its stats, but also another PlayStyle+.
This makes Haaland the first known card in EA FC 25 that would have two of the coveted PlayStyle+. The following leak comes from the X account of the well-known insider Fut Sheriff.
Despite the probabilities, we would like to point out at this point that leaks do not provide an unlimited guarantee.
Why are prices for strong cards falling so dramatically? Experienced FC-25 players know about the importance of the PlayStyles this year. Cards with two playstyles+ could become the new meta pretty quickly, especially if they had two of the 6 strongest playstyles in FC 25 as gold versions.
This also means that other strong cards that only have a PlayStyle+ would lose relevance, even if their other stats are strong. Many players on the transfer market seem to be afraid of this.

Since the first leaks were leaked, the prices of the most expensive icons have fallen significantly. The most famous and violent example is the price of Ronaldo’s Brazilian icon.
The price of the most expensive card in the game fell from around 12.5 million coins for PlayStation and Xbox to under 10 million coins over the course of the day (December 18, 2024). The value is now recovering from the panic selling and is around 10.8 million coins as of 3 p.m., according to Futbin.
The German icons by Bastian Schweinsteiger (from 87,000 to 76,000 coins) and Succession Philipp Lahm (from 300,000 to 254,000 coins), which became significantly cheaper, were also hit hard.
And the negative trend applies to almost all icons, as you can see from the market price trends for icons in FC 25 on Futbin.
So if you’ve always wanted to own a legend but never had the necessary change, it might be worth taking a look at the transfer market.
We assume that the transfer market will recover somewhat in the next few hours before further leaks with the potentially first icons with 2 PlayStyle+ could shake it up again.
