New eruption in Hawaiian volcano

Kilauea is one of the world’s most active volcanoes. The first signs of the ongoing eruption were detected on Wednesday morning, local time.

According to the United States Geological Survey USGS, all activity is taking place within the national park where the volcano is located and there is no danger to the communities nearby.

Kilauea, Hawaii’s second largest volcano, had an eruption that lasted from September 2021 to December last year. After a short break, there was activity again in Kilauea in January this year. That outbreak lasted 61 days and ended in March.

A 2018 Kilauea eruption destroyed more than 700 homes.
