Kiss between Rhaenyra and Mysaria in House of the Dragon was improvised by Emma D’Arcy and Sonoya Mizuno
As the Dragon War between Black and Green is in full swing, Lady Mysaria aka the White Worm (Sonoya Mizuno) and Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) share an intimate moment. Mysaria confides in her chosen queen about her traumatic past, which includes events with Rhaenyra’s husband Daemon (Matt Smith).
The situation culminates in a kiss for the two women. This came as a surprise to many fans, while it was also a surprise for the two actors during filming. not planned in advance As Mizuno explained in an interview with The Wrap, the kiss between the two characters was improvised:
It wasn’t written in the script as a kiss. I think it was written in as… a breath between them or something, and that whatever is happening is interrupted.
Mizuno then had several discussions with House of the Dragon showrunner Ryan Condal and co-star Emma D’Arcy about how the story should continue. Ultimately, D’Arcy suggested the following interpretation of the scene, according to Mizuno:
Because we were separated in space… and Mysaria told this story, D’Arcy felt the need to hold her and comfort her. From there, it felt natural to move on to the kiss.House of the Dragon fans ship Rhaenyra and Mysaria as the new dream couple
House of the Dragon fans shared their feelings about the kiss on X (formerly Twitter) and celebrated the queer moment between the two characters. One fan wrote: “And if I say that the kiss between Rhaenyra and Mysaria is a thousand times hotter than any of the heterosexual sex scenes in the series, then what?”

Another fan wrote that the series has just reached its romantic climax and immediately announced the appropriate couple name for the two: “The most romantic and intimate scene in House of the Dragon belongs to Rhaesaria.”
