This summer it has been two years since the underwater craft Titan lost contact with the outside world in the middle of the Atlantic – and became a tragedy that engaged the whole world.
The 6.7 meter long tourist boat with five people on board had been on their way down to Titanic’s wreck, at almost 4,000 meters depth, when it imploded.
In September last year, it was revealed that the last message from the mini boat was “released two weights”. Previously, they had announced that “everything is fine”.
Weather service recorded
Now an audio file from the last seconds of the vessel has been released. The approximately 20 -second clip that the US Coast Guard was released was taken up by the US weather service NoaAAANFoclosenoaanational Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration about 145 miles from the site where Titan disappeared from the radar.

According to the US Coast Guard, the noise in the recording is the “suspected acoustic signature” of the vehicle’s implosion on June 18, 2023. After that it becomes silent.
The Coast Guard believes that the high noise is the sound of titanium that gave way to the pressure in the water, which killed everyone aboard a millisecond.
Investigation is ongoing
On board Titan were Stockton Rush, 61, co -founder and CEO of the company Oceangate, which built the vehicle and took the equivalent of SEK 2.5 million per ticket. Rush was also Titan’s pilot.
Together with him, the British-Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, 48; His son Suleman, 19; British airline manager and billionaire Hamish Harding, 58, and French Titanic expert Paul-Henri Nargeolet, 77, in the sea outside Newfoundland.
According to ABC News The Coast Guard will release more information about the disaster in the future. A spokesperson for the authority said on Wednesday that the investigation is still ongoing and that a final report will be released when it is completed.
