In the Asian film The Seven Samurai, it was primarily unknown actors who were able to start their careers here. The first The Magnificent Seven but assembled one directly with Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Lee Van Cleef, Yul Brynner, James Coburn and Horst Buchholz impressive cast.
Exactly The remake also follows the same path with Chris Pratt, Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, Byung-hun Lee, Vincent D’Onofrio), Martin Sensmeier and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.
However with mixed success: The film failed to generate too much enthusiasm. This could be due, among other things, to the fact that director Antoine Fuqua has neither seen the original nor is a particularly big Western fan (via: Spiegel Online).
