Gary McKay, general manager of Bioware, talked about the production processes of the new Dragon Age and Mass Effect games and preparing games for the next generation consoles.
We learned last year that new Dragon Age and Mass Effect games are under construction. Bioware general manager Gary McKay shared information about the latest status of these two giant games that the studio is working on.
New Dragon Age and Mass Effect games in development
According to McKay’s statements, while the production process of the new Dragon Age game has reached the middle, the new Mass Effect game is just at the beginning of the process. Mckay has this to say about the new, unnamed Dragon Age game:
“We completed the draft of the game last year. We are now in the process of projecting our vision into the game and creating stunning regions, intricate characters, solid gameplay and great cinematics.”
Gary Mckay also talked about how game development processes work at Bioware. He mentioned that the process, which starts with the design of art concepts and sketches, goes through the constant testing of different ideas. He then stated that the next step was simply to make the ideas that are firmly embedded in them playable. However, Mckay did not mention whether the Bioware magic culture, which was on the agenda with Anthem, still has an impact on the company.
