New Disney + series makes Chris Hemsworth a pensioner with an absurd suit – and that’s all you need to see from Limitless

The MCU showed: Thor is at his best when he’s suffering. The Marvel Universe has broken the Norse hero (multiple times) over the past few years and is really enjoying it. The new Disney+ series Without Limits is now testing the concept on the glowing actor behind the character: Chris Hemsworth.

The blatant self-experiment No Limits with Chris Hemsworth

Limitless – S01 Trailer (German subtitles) HD

For 5 episodes, the documentary series is about what the Australian star likes to do in his free time: fitness, wellness, body tuning. He wants to become healthier and stronger than nature allows – to live forever. “What if you could fight aging and discover the full potential of the human body?”, according to the press release for Ohne Limits. In order to achieve the goal of eternal life, Hemsworth swims through icy water and deprives his magnificent body of nourishment for days.

All very interesting and expected so far. But then …

The craziest No Limits episode puts Chris Hemsworth in an age simulation suit

the last and 6th episode changes the perspective on the aging process, who doesn’t stop at Hollywood stars, no matter how much they suppress this truth – whether with cosmetic surgeries or with fitness mania. In the 6. Follow Acceptance Chris Hemsworth understands, to put it mildly, that sooner or later he will die. The best way to a long and comfortable life is to accept old age.

It follows a self-experiment, which is a bit reminiscent of the flat homeless experiments of German C-celebrities. Desirée Nick or Prince Alexander von Anhalt simulate in reality like prominent and homeless – gutter instead of glamour! “Life on the streets” for 72 hours before returning to their warm homes.

Without Limits goes a little further in the re-enactment of unfamiliar living conditions. In the final episode, Hemsworth moves into the Body of an 80 year old man. Or, more technically speaking, he becomes one age simulation suit plugged. That means he wears:

  • Crocks that limit his balance
  • a vest with 60 kilograms of additional body weight
  • Bungee cords restricting his movement
  • a helmet that limits his hearing
  • glasses that limit his vision
  • The Marvel star is said to spend 3 days in the bulky outfit. This condition visibly throws the star, who is so concerned about his body, off track. He says in the documentary that he feels isolated, he only gets 20 to 30 percent of what is happening around him. The otherwise always stable Hemsworth wobbles through a sleepy old people’s home, which looks very absurd at first, but in the meantime becomes really touching.

Without Limits is full of surprising sentimentality

Hemsworth is led into his small retirement home room, which looks like retirement home rooms do: a spatial condensation of a 70, 80 year life. The actor rummages thoughtfully through the furniture and discovers his own biography (“Thorever”) with a gray version of himself on the cover. Next to them are current family photos, which, absorbed in this context, actually seem like memories of better times. Then the sunny boy’s smile flickers a little.
