The Public Prosecutor’s Office writes in a press release that the preliminary investigation leader, Chamber Prosecutor Mats Ljungqvist, together with the Security Police, has requested help from the Swedish Defense Forces to carry out new investigations in the Baltic Sea. The investigations must be carried out within the Swedish economic zone.
“I have decided to, together with the Security Police, carry out a number of supplementary investigations at the crime scene. The armed forces have, after the request, decided to assist in the preliminary investigation. The armed forces have the resources and the expertise needed to be able to investigate the crime scene in the way we wish,” comments Ljungqvist on the decision .
