Health pass: 3rd dose compulsory for over 65s

Once again, Emmanuel Macron’s speech on Tuesday, November 9 at 8 p.m. focused on vaccination. The President answered the question most asked: will it take a third dose of Covid vaccine to keep your health pass? From December 15th, the validity of the health pass will be conditional on a third dose, but only for those over 65, people with co-morbidities and those around them.

A reminder for all other age groups from November 27

Regarding the need for a booster dose for other age groups, the Minister of Health Olivier Véran announced during a press conference given on November 25 that people over the age of 18 would be able to benefit from it from November 27. All adults should therefore receive a booster dose of vaccine 5 months after their last injection. TO From January 15, the health pass for the latter will no longer be active if the vaccine booster has not been given within 7 months of the last injection.

In a press release published a few hours earlier, the Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS) explained that this recommendation was justified by a “context of resumption of the epidemic even stronger than expected“, but also by the”preliminary results of the population model conducted by the Institut Pasteur“.
