There is currently not much left of the initial euphoria of CoD Black Ops 6. One of the biggest problems right now is cheaters. But a new way to invest money in the game is also enraging players: an event pass
What is it about? As CharlieIntel reports on x.com, a new Event Pass is coming into play. It appears as part of a collaboration with the Squid Game series in Black Ops 6 and Warzone. The pass is scheduled to be released on January 3rd, the price is still unclear.
In the game itself, however, there is talk of a premium route in which you can also unlock a new operator skin that matches the series.
However, the announcement of such an event pass generates little approval on social media. Many players criticize the practice, which is otherwise more familiar from Free2Play games.
A new Event Pass, in addition to the current Battle Pass
Where is the problem? On the one hand, there is already a Battle Pass for which players pay to unlock skins or new weapons. The new Event Pass is not integrated into it. If you want the premium event items, you have to pay again.
Another problem is previous events. You could usually unlock content from previous events for free. Now having to pay extra for an event reminds many players of Free2Play practices, which you say doesn’t fit with a full-price game. On x.com, players let their frustration out.
According to the comments, a lot of frustration also comes from the fact that CoD currently has other problems that, in the eyes of many players, are hardly being taken care of. The anti-cheat system, which needs to be improved, has also been criticized several times. A user writes: How about Anticheat?
Cheaters are probably the biggest problem in CoD Black Ops 6 at the moment. For many players, it spoils the fun of the game and therefore generally creates a frustrated atmosphere within the community. This is particularly unfortunate since it was well received upon release. MeinMMO shooter expert Dariusz Müller also praised the game: Black Ops 6 is the best Call of Duty in years because, despite problems, it does a lot of things right
