In September, 92 kilos of cocaine were found in a banana container in the port of Helsingborg. And at the beginning of October, 102 kilograms of cocaine were found in a foreign transshipment port. The narcotics had been hidden in a container that was going to Helsingborg, reports say Helsingborgs Dagblad.
“My view is that the two seizures have to do with each other,” says Magnus Pettersson, prosecutor at the national unit against international and organized crime, to the newspaper.
In connection with the find in October, the cocaine was replaced and the container was allowed to continue to Helsingborg. A major intelligence operation was launched, but no suspect could be linked to the narcotics.
“We have no one detained and no one who has been notified of suspicion at the moment,” says Magnus Pettersson.
Earlier this year, a total of three tons of cocaine that may have been on its way to Helsingborg’s port were already stopped in Ecuador. The drugs were loaded in banana containers.
