Ukraine’s allies in the West must work together to provide the country with long-range weapons, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said after a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Berlin on Friday.
– We are establishing a new coalition for long-range rocket artillery, says Scholz.
Macron says the three countries are united in working together to prevent Russia from winning the war, while never seeking direct conflict with Moscow.
– We will continue to support Ukraine and its people as long as necessary and we will continue – as we have done since the first day – to never call for an escalation, says Macron.
The President’s statement should be seen in the light of his statement at the end of February that it cannot be ruled out that Western countries may send soldiers to Ukraine in the future.
