Remnant 2 is coming soon, a new Soulslike game with claws for Steam, Epic, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The boss talks about his game beforehand and says: There is so much in it that no one has seen it all before. No tester, no journalist, not even our own developers.
What kind of game is this?
What’s up with the secrets? Similar to the Soulsborne games, Remnant 2 is full of mysteries. You can discover hidden boxes and quests, find items and sometimes unlock new sub-areas.
Some of them are only superficially hidden, the solution can then be found in the immediate vicinity. For others you have to think “around the corner” and others are so hidden that you have to solve other puzzles to find them at all.
SPOILERS: A few examples of such puzzles
According to Ben Cureton, Principal Designer on Remnant 2, it should be easy to get 100% achievements/trophies. But no one has reportedly discovered all the secrets (via Twitter).
In the video we reveal whether Remnant 2 is worth it:
“No one has ever seen 100% of Remnant 2. No one.”
Cureton writes on Twitter that neither journalists nor its own developers have ever discovered all the secrets of Remnant 2. Even testers with over 400 hours of playtime would still have something new to discover.
The secrets should ensure that you still have enough to do after the story to explore the game: “Remnant 2 has secrets within secrets within secrets.”
However, he did not give any indication of what exactly will be found. However, I know from my previous games that some of the puzzles can also be based on chance. A world will be randomly rolled upon startup, this includes events and bosses that may appear.
So you will probably have to play through Remnant 2 more than once to even have a chance to see all the secrets. And then some of them take you a few more hours to crack. I had to get help from my colleague Maik Schneider…
Remnant 2 will be officially released on July 25th for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. In the coming weeks, however, there will be a number of innovations that are worthwhile:
4 cool games will appear in the next 2 months – do you have all of them on the screen?
