Restoration started in February. The bells are still the same bells, only the clappers are different. Every bell now has a heavier clapper. “The weight of the clapper has an effect on the sound of the bell,” explains Malgosia. A heavier clapper makes the sound richer, so the low bells have new heavier clappers, the other old clappers moved up a number of bells.
