The Alzheimer Society of Brant, Haldimand Norfolk, Hamilton Halton has appointed Michelle Lewis as its new chief executive officer.

Lewis replaces Mary Burnett who led the organization for the past 16 years by expanding its services, forging partnerships, and increasing community awareness.

“I am deeply honored to follow in the footsteps of Mary Burnett,” said Lewis. “(Her) dedication and hard work have greatly contributed to the Alzheimer Society’s success and impact over the past 16 years.”
She said she looks forward to collaborating with her team, volunteers, and partners to continue driving positive change for individuals and families impacted by dementia.
The society focuses its programs and services on education, wellness activities, and counseling services.
Education is provided to families along their journey through dementia and counselors operate on-going support groups and one-on-one sessions within a family home.
The Alzheimer Society offers health and wellness programs for care partners and people living with dementia, along with people at the greatest risk of developing dementia.
Alzheimer Society chapters in Hamilton Halton, Haldimand Norfolk, and Brant were amalgamated into one unit in 2016.
