New allegations against Harvey Weinstein

Julia Ormond, 58, is known from a string of big films from the 1990s. Among other things, she played opposite Brad Pitt in “Autumn Legends” (1994) and Harrison Ford in “Sabrina” (1995).

In the lawsuit filed in a New York court, she accuses Weinstein of sexually assaulting her after a business meeting in December 1995. Weinstein – then a top executive at the production company Miramax – allegedly tried to derail her career after she confronted him about what happened a few weeks later.

Ormond also accuses her then agency CAA of discouraging her from filing a police report. Meanwhile, Disney and Miramax are accused of knowing that Weinstein posed a danger to women without doing anything about it.

Since 2020, Weinstein is serving a 23-year prison sentence in New York for the rape and sexual assault of two women. He has since also been sentenced to 16 years in prison for the same crime against another woman in a Los Angeles court.

He has appealed both sentences and, through his lawyers, denies the new charges.

Ormond has also starred in films such as “Miss Smilla’s Sense of Snow”, “Che – The Argentine” and “The Incredible Life of Benjamin Button” as well as television productions such as “Mad Men”, “The Walking Dead: World Beyond” and “Temple Grandin”. – for which she was awarded an Emmy in 2010.
