According to the written statement made by the Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Majid al-Ansari said that in exchange for the delivery of medicines needed by Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip, medicine and humanitarian aid shipments will be provided to civilians in the Gaza Strip, especially to the most affected and damaged areas. He stated that an agreement was reached between Hamas and Israel for its implementation.
Ansari stated that this agreement was successful under the mediation of Qatar and France.
Stating that medicine and aid will be sent to the Egyptian city of Al-Arish today with two planes belonging to the Qatar Armed Forces to be transferred to the Gaza Strip, Ansari emphasized that Qatar will continue its efforts with regional and international partners to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
STATEMENT FROM NETANYUHU’S OFFICE
A written statement was made on the issue from the X account of Netanyahu’s office. The statement said, “The transfer process of the drugs will take place after Mossad Chief David Barnea made an agreement with Qatar to supply drugs to Israeli prisoners.” The statement was included.
“On Wednesday, two planes belonging to the Qatar Air Force will take off towards Egypt to carry medicines purchased from France according to the list prepared in Israel in line with the medical needs of the kidnapped people.” In the statement, it was stated that when the planes reach Egypt, Qatar representatives will carry the medicines to the Gaza Strip and from there to the final destination.
According to the Israeli army, there are still 136 Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip.
81 Israeli and 240 Palestinian captives were mutually released during the “humanitarian pause” in the conflict in Gaza, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, on November 24, 2023, for 4 days and later extended for 3 days.
