The police union started the earlier investigation in February this year. Pending that investigation, Van de Kamp resigned from his work. In March, after it was concluded that no transgressive behavior had been detected, the former chairman resumed his work. This turned out to be short-lived: in April Van de Kamp resigned from his position because the investigation took “a heavy burden on him mentally and physically”.
