When you go on a trip, there are many different things you need to keep track of. You definitely want to make sure you have the passport with you, check-in, time for boarding, which gate you’re going to, maximum weight for the pack and of course – make sure you bring everything you need to take with you on the trip.

Among other things, there are many people who have no idea if, for example, you are allowed to bring snuff to Italy or Spain? But yes, of course you will.

But one thing that not many people know about that you are not allowed to bring…. it is nothing less than power banks. This is because they can overheat and cause a fire.
– In general, based on fire safety on board, power banks should always be packed in hand luggage as there may be a risk of overheating. Objects that are considered to be a danger to flight safety can also be confiscated at the screening at the airport, said Peter Wärring who is press officer at Swedavia for TV4.

Something else that you can bring with you, but that can ruin your pack, that’s a completely different matter.
Never carry this in your pack when you fly: “Everything gets ruined”
It has happened to both of them that they pack nail polish with them on the trip. After the flight, when you arrive at your hotel and are about to unpack, you discover to your dismay that the nail polish has somehow leaked out.
Jonathan Weidowprofessor of physics at Chalmers, says that there is a reasonable explanation for why this is happening.
– On the ground, we have a certain air pressure. In fine weather, the pressure is slightly higher, when it is raining, the pressure is slightly lower. For the sake of simplicity, we can imagine that we close the can of nail polish when the airplane is on the ground. This means that the pressure inside the can will be the same as on the ground, he begins News24.
– The higher you go from the ground, the lower the pressure. The pressure outside the cabin at an altitude of 10,000 meters is so low that it would risk causing discomfort or injury to the passengers. The aircraft therefore acts as a pressurized cabin that protects the passengers from the lower pressure outside. However, the pressure inside the cabin is not as high as on the ground as it would require the aircraft to be more robustly built, which in itself would entail large overheads, for example for greater fuel consumption.
Another pressure in the aircraft
He tells us that it is precisely the pressure difference that makes the nail polish want to push out.

– What happens when the aircraft is at a high altitude is that there is a pressure difference between the inside of the nail polish can and the cabin where the pressure in the nail polish can is then higher. This makes the content want to get out. If the jar is not screwed tight enough, nail polish will therefore squeeze out.

– A similar example that I am more practically familiar with is if you have a half-empty water bottle. Depending on when it opens and closes, you can get the effect that it either compresses or expands depending on the height of the aircraft, he concludes.
