Nette Kiviranna has a perfect opening in the World Cup

Para-alpine skier Nette Kiviranta won the giant slalom in Turin. Para sports are now participating in the Universiade for the first time.

Para-alpine skier Nette Kiviranta won gold in the sitting class of the giant slalom at the Torino Universiade.

The second athlete in the sitting class, Spain Audrey Pascual Seconthe difference to Kiviranta was 5.04 seconds.

– It was a really pleasant big stick again. I got two successful and safe landings – a really good feeling. We had a tight fight with the Spaniard, it’s nice to win. I’ve been able to train well all week and I’ve had a good preparation for the Games, the Finn commented in the press release.

This year, para sports are participating in the Universiade for the first time.

Kiviranta’s early season has been strong, as he has won two giant slalom competitions in the World Cup.

He has the main aim of the season at the World Championships, which will be held in February in Slovenia.
