Cheating Love on Netflix is the remake of a British series
The original Italian title of the Netflix series Fraudulent Love is Inganno, which simply means “Fraud”. Consequently, it is precisely this question that is at the center of the story: When the wealthy hotel owner Gabriella (Monica Guerritore) falls in love with Elia (Giacomo Gianniotti from Grey’s Anatomy), who is 30 years her junior, she believes that she has found great happiness in love. However, her three children, who are the same age as Elia, suspect that their mother’s new boyfriend is actually just forcing his way into their family because he wants to get his hands on Gabriella’s fortune.
With this story, Fraudulent Love is filming another series that appeared five years ago: Gold Diggers starring Julia Ormond and Ben Barnes. You can currently stream the original British series by Marnie Dickens on Magenta TV to see if it is better than the remake. Because international critics are currently not finding much good about the new Netflix series from Italy.
Deceitful Love: The Netflix series is not doing well in reviews
While the larger newspapers completely refrain from criticizing Fraudeutsche Liebe, the smaller reporters summarize the mood well. The Feast of Legends calls Deceitful Love one, for example “bland adaptation”:

Leisure Byte brings the erotic thriller as “absolutely outrageous, completely crazy” to the point:
The Italian series is not like its British predecessor and makes a unhealthy amount of drama the focal point of something that is meant to look serious and introspective. […] In the end, this crazy ride turns into a Soap opera chaoswhose thriller vibe and sexual energy goes out and leaves us with many unanswered questions leaves behind.
The German film reviews site also condemns Fraudulent Love as “unintentionally funny” and “ugly crisis in a luxury atmosphere”:
Excessive, boring and exhausting: In fact, the series doesn’t care if it’s in any way believable or at least possible […] instead of actually dealing with the question of whether love with such an age difference has a realistic chance.
There is agreement in the criticism So apparently on the point that Fraudulent Love not only does not convincingly convey the relationship of the main characters, but also that the Netflix series in its structure and the development of its twists simply boring is.
