What is The 3 Suns about?
The series is based on the so-called Trisolaris trilogy by Liu Cixin*. The plot of The Three-Body Problem is extremely complex. It all starts in 2007 with a series of deaths. All over the world, scientists commit suicide for no apparent reason. Nano-scientist Wang Miao and policeman Si Qiang investigate related strange incidents, which eventually lead them to stumble upon a mysterious VR game. The work has already been filmed.
Huge project: This is behind The 3 Suns
Netflix has been working on the adaptation for over three years and apparently has high hopes for it. Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and DB Weiss have been hired as showrunners. You work closely with author Liu Cixin. The budget of The 3 Suns is said to be around 200 million US dollars, which means that the financial outlay would be even higher than for Westworld, the most expensive sci-fi series of all time.
When will The 3 Suns be released on Netflix?
The 3 Suns will be released on Netflix in January 2024. Until then, the streaming service will probably release a more detailed trailer that reveals more about the plot and characters.
