Netflixs biggest fantasy series returns after more than two years

In the summer of 2022, fantasy fans on Netflix reached the streamer’s most epic genre project to date with the series Sandman. However, the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s popular DC comics was a long time coming after ten episodes and a bonus episode. Like so many series, this one suffered 2nd season of Sandman under the strikes in Hollywood and had to be postponed several times.

Now there is finally a first picture from the new episodes that shows us the return of the ruler of the world of dreams.

The image was released in an exclusive first look deal by TV Line. It shows Dream aka Morpheus (Tom Sturridge) on the set of the new Sandman episodes. While it’s unclear exactly what action the scene involves, Dream may be performing magic directed at his counterpart, in whose place the camera could be. But see for yourself:

The series revolves around the ruler of the world of dreams and member of the seven eternals. After Dream aka Morpheus was captured by occultists, he is finally able to free himself over 100 years later. However, he can no longer find his dream world the way he left it. From then on he does everything he can to rebuild it and regain his old strength. Ancient artifacts can help him, but they have to be found first.

When is Sandman season 2 coming to Netflix?

In addition to Tom Sturridge, Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Mason Alexander Park (Quantum Leap), Donna Preston (Hard Cell), Jenna Coleman (Victoria) and Steven Fry (QI) are in front of the camera for the Netflix series. The second season is said to have 12 episodes and will be enjoyed by fans during 2025 on the streamer.
