Years ago, Netflix introduced a special type of films and series on its own streaming platform: interactive titles. In productions like Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, viewers are allowed to watch in certain places decide for yourself in which direction the story should continue. Different courses and endings are pre-programmed for this.
However, the feature does not seem to have caught on for Netflix. The provider soon radically cleaned up the genre and only left a few titles.
Netflix is throwing out almost all interactive films and series from its streaming program
As The Verge reports, the streamer is taking part on December 1, 2024 a whopping 20 of 24 interactive titles from our own offering. All that remains are the following four films and series with interactive functions:

According to The Verge, Netflix publicist Chrissy Kelleher said the following about the decision:
Technology has served its purpose but is now limited as we focus on technological efforts in other areas.
The feature has probably turned out to be a casual gimmick for Netflix that is actively used by too few people. In addition to films and series, the streaming service has also been trying its hand at gaming for a long time. It remains to be seen whether this division will be lucrative for Netflix in the long term.
