The Spanish crime series Heist of the Money became a smash hit after hitting Netflix. As a result, the streaming service continued to work after the end Expansion of the Money Heist franchise. But for many, the seasons produced by Netflix from season 3 no longer reached the previous standard, including the series remake Money Heist: Last year, Korea turned out to be a boring poor copy and a letdown. The new spin-off series Berlin could now bring the Spanish thieves back to their old strength.
Netflix’ Berlin spin-off picks up on what made Money Heist so distinctive
Andrés de Fonollosa (Pedro Alonso), code name: Berlin, was the most unpredictable character on Money Heist, rising somewhere on the scale between psychopath and genius to become a fan favorite over the course of the first two seasons. It even went so far that the Netflix series kept bringing him back, even though the series had long since sealed the character’s fate. In this respect, it makes sense to give the celebrated character his own criminal history to give.
After Netflix us 8 months ago Berlin’s new criminal crew introduced, we now get to see a first trailer for the series spin-off:
Berlin – S01 Teaser Trailer (German subtitles) HD
As in the times of the House of Money, the Netflix series Berlin is again a Raid in the center stand. This time, however, it’s not the banknote printing works (seasons 1-2) or the central bank of Madrid (seasons 3-5) that are being robbed, but a Paris auction house – of course again with a paper replica for planning.
After the last three seasons of Money Heist often (also locally) stood still and got lost in shootouts, the trailer for Berlin promises one varied heist with many phases. Laughter, love and money should not be neglected here, because Berlin is someone who wants everything at once: whether partying with the gang, in distress underground, cracking a safe or standing on the roof of a car. That’s exactly what they are big emotional gestureswhich made Money Heist so distinctive.
With a start date of Berlin on December 3, 2023the Netflix spin-off reaches us a little over two years after the series finale of Money Heist.
