Netflix star Ryan Gosling reveals an absurd survival trick we can all try

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

It can’t be easy for Ryan Gosling. He is in Berlin to find out about the Action blockbuster The Gray Man to speak, which will be available to stream on Netflix on July 22, 2022. Gosling plays Court “Sierra Six” Gentry, an agent on an assignment who uncovers scandalous information about a corrupt colleague (Regé-Jean Page) and has to be taken out by a hard-line psychopath (Chris Evans).

Gosling has been in the media most recently for another film: Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, in which he takes on the role of Ken and, according to early set photos, wears one fantastic outfit after another. “By the way, that’s nothing! That’s just a tiny little part of what happens in the movie”, says the actor euphorically when we meet him for an interview. In Barbie, he wears, in his own words the favorite movie costume of his entire career – but can’t reveal more yet.

Then he remembers why he’s actually here and slips in an anecdote about his favorite outfit from The Gray Man: The stunt people who trained me wore this type of tracksuit in martial arts practice. I then asked her if I could wear it in the film. I stole it.And that is not the last surprising anecdote of this conversation.

Before The Gray Man: Ryan Gosling thinks it’s a shame he has to talk so much in movies

Sometimes he plays an arrogant heartthrob, then another lonely man entering into a relationship with a sex doll: Ryan Gosling isn’t afraid to reinvent himself as an actor. The only thing he hadn’t done before The Gray Man was a “proper” action film, says Gosling: “It was more like we shot an action scene and then when it was over I was totally disappointed. Because that’s just it much more fun than all the talking.”

Nobody has to worry about long-winded dialogues in his current action project. In the film by the Russo brothers, there are bangs everywhere. A grueling filming experience that culminates in a very specific scene for Ryan Gosling:

There is a scene at the end of the film that takes place in Prague. It starts in a square in the middle of the city and ends in a tram car, which falls apart as I walk through it. I remember thinking to myself while the car collapses under me: That pretty much sums up this experience. That’s exactly how filming this movie has felt for the past six months. The most expensive Netflix movie of all time has given Ryan Gosling a surprising survival tip

The Gray Man starts colorfully – and then increasingly escalates

In order to be perfectly prepared for his role, the actor had a former member of the Delta Force at his side, “So a real Gray Man”. According to Gosling, the man advised him on several scenes and explained that how real agents would behave in such a situation – and how not. For example, when asked what a Gray Man does before he sleeps in a public room.

He meant that he tying his shoelaces to the door. Because if someone comes through the door, that would wake them up. He just had all these little details that weren’t in the script that made it more interesting, more real, more entertaining.

The best – and most surprising! – Survival Tip, however, has to do with an item that each of us can pick up at the discount store around the corner: sweets. “He told me that I always have Skittles with me should”, says Gosling, seeming well aware that at first glance that’s pretty strange advice. But: “They’re a good source of energy and that’s what you need when you’re on the job.”

What do we learn from this: Sugar, acidifiers and flavorings can save your life – should you ever have to run over collapsing train compartments.

the Book template for The Gray Man has several parts. So it’s not out of the question that Ryan Gosling will once again be recruited by the Russo brothers to shoot more than talk. But before that, we definitely get to see Gosling in the most likely role of his life: Ken.
