Netflix star Regé-Jean Page is “open” to James Bond – and teases new action role

Many fell in love when Regé Jean Page starred in the first season of Bridgerton Duke of Hastings filled their TV screens. And while he didn’t return for Season 2 of the Netflix series, the British actor’s career has been on the upswing since. Some even see him as the next James Bond!

Regé-Jean Page is currently back on Netflix in The Gray Man. Page plays one corrupt secret service employees, who hires a psychopath (Chris Evans) to take down a rebellious agent (Ryan Gosling). It was staged and written 200 million euro film by the Russo brothers.

We asked Regé-Jean Page how the shoot with the Avengers makers went – and what we can look forward to in the future.

From Netflix heartthrob to action star, The Gray Man is just the beginning

“I approach every role like it’s the first script I’ve ever seen”Page says of his Preparing for The Gray Man. However, during the shoot itself he had to realize that making a film with Joe and Anthony Russo is a really unique experience.

While reading [des Skripts] I thought several times: ‘That’s great, but impossible!’ And with them it suddenly becomes possible because there is nothing that the two of them can’t do or haven’t already done. Since Daniel Craig in James Bond 007 – No Time To Die its Farewell as a double zero agent celebrated, rumors about his successor are spreading. A name that comes up again and again: Regé-Jean Page. The Briton is considered one of the most likely candidates for Bond’s successor, even ex-007 Pierce Brosnan gave his blessing.

“I’m open to most things”, says Regé-Jean Page when asked if he can imagine the role. Until we find out who will follow in the great footsteps of Daniel Craig, but we still have to be patient. According to producer Barbara Broccoli, the legendary character is to be completely reinvented, which means that filming should start in two years at the earliest.

Regé-Jean Page seems ready. It remains questionable whether the franchise will do the same ready for a black James Bond is.
