The fact that Disney + grabs Keanu Reeves’ Formula 1 series is probably due to a Netflix success. As is most of the almost weekly news about high profile new Formula 1 projects.
Since 2019, the Netflix docuseries Drive to Survive has provided a huge boost in the popularity of auto racing’s premier class, especially in the US, where Formula 1 hasn’t been particularly popular. Now the competition is jumping on the trend. This year alone there was news about:
in the Competition for streaming subscriptions the racing series is an extremely popular tool right now. Here Netflix is still ahead with Drive to Survive, but for how long? The streaming service is said to have even bid for the rights to the US broadcast of Formula 1, but lost to Disney’s sports network ESPN, Deadline reported.
When is the Keanu Reeves series coming to Disney+?
According to Variety, the streaming service is planning one Start in autumn 2023. Until then, however, we will see Keanu Reeves again in his currently most popular role. Because John Wick: Chapter 4 will be released in German cinemas on March 23, 2022.
