Remakes, reboots and adaptations are still the be-all and end-all of today’s entertainment industry. Hardly anything else excites producers as much as titles that the audience is already familiar with. This is unlikely to be the case in the case of the Netflix adaptation of The Decameron, because all the
Giovanni Boccaccio’s forbidden model * once found scandalous, have been dead for over 600 years.
As a naughty Bridgerton, the Netflix series could still attract a lot of attention when it hits the streaming market leader next week.

The Decameron – S01 Trailer (English) HD
The Decameron goes online on Netflix in a week – and this is what it’s about
Italy in the Middle Ages: While the bubonic plague sweeps through Europe, several nobles and their servants go to a country estate to wait out the pandemic. Boredom can easily arise, which we can well imagine after the Corona isolation. But the blue bloods have a remedy for this: they take turns telling each other stories every day – with a salacious touch. So far the literary original, the repeatedly banned and censored in 671 years became.
The raunchy Netflix comedy goes one step further: During their stay, the noble and dragged-along country house visitors (including stars such as Zosia Mamet, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Tanya Reynolds, Tony Hale, Jessica Plummer, …) get closer to each other and in the end even have to fight for their survival.
